Competition rules

  • Entry is £2.50 per story or free if £5 for feedback is paid for (local currency calculated in PayPal).
  • No limit to the number of entries per person but each story requires payment.
  • The winner will receive £30 via PayPal and publication on the website.
  • All non-winning shortlisted will have their entry fee refunded (does not apply to the feedback fee if paid).
  • Feedback will be sent following the end of each competition.
  • Email your story to: Fusilli-writing@outlook [dot] com copied into the body of an email.
  • NO ATTACHMENTS OR LINKS.
  • No Artificial Intelligence generated or assisted stories.
  • The competition is open to writers of any nationality writing in English.
  • Writers must be at least 18 at the time of entry.
  • No poetry (whilst we like poetry, we don’t consider ourselves expert).
  • The maximum number of words is 200, not including title. No minimum word count.
  • Any theme including disturbing, erotic etc, although publication of the winning stories on our page is at our discretion.
  • The story needs a twist.
  • The deadline is when we receive the 50th entry (see count on website competition page).
  • The competition is always open – If you are number 51, you will be entered as number one in the next competition which will open immediately after the end of the previous competition.
  • Entries must be the writers original work and not have been previously published in print or online, been broadcast or have won a prize (also relates to ‘revised’ works).
  • The competition is not a prize draw. Stories will be judged for their quality by Chris Tattersall
  • The judge’s verdict is final.
  • The writer retains the rights to the story although we may use the story for future promotion.
  • Your entry will be acknowledged by email, but this may take up to two weeks.
  • If you pay for entry or feedback, you can send your story at any point in the future, not necessarily for the current competition round (but remind us when you enter).
  • Entry is taken to be acceptance of these rules.
